Today I went to visit 21 merchants which are located inside a commercial center in Caracas, according to the marcocoino.bitcoin.com website. submitted by
As we recently updated the content of bmap.cash
I had to go and investigate on the content of all the other maps available including marcocoino.
we are now delivering you 500+ (CONFIRMED & VERIFIED) Restaurants, Bars, Supermarkets, Hotels and Spas worldwide accepting BCH and DASH! I found exactly five out of the supposedly 21 merchants
, which actually had the bitcoin.com sticker on their window and I got to talk to most of the managers.
None of them was able to take my BCH, ALL of them told me they do not know how to use the wallet
This was my third day, trying to to find merchants using marcocoino.
On the first attempt I visited five BCH places of which two didnt exist and three of them didnt know how to use the wallet. The second attempt one of them accepted. Marco Coino is proudly presenting 200+ merchants in Caracas, Venezuela, but most of that data is fake
, I wonder if bitcoin.com
knows about that fact and if they manually confirm the data coming in???
I found several places on the Map that are sooo close together that you can not see the pin... There are spots containing supposedly 3,5, or 8 merchants... but as I investigated there were only 5 real merchants out of 21 in total!!! So these pins are definitely fake and maybe you got tricked by one of your promoters like the DASH DAO got tricked by their promoters a year ago doing the same job? DASH has also (still) so many fake or outdated pins on their map, that is a real issue and users would benefit if all parties would be so honest to remove them as fast as possible!!
Making a promotion campaign is something different to actually training and making test purchases and making sure that customers can make a purchase at all times. I have on-boarded 50-60 merchants myself worldwide and I know how much training each employee needs until they really get it. It is an absolute naked lie that 200+ merchants around Caracas, Venezuela are accepting BCH while approximately only 5-10% of them do! Just by putting the sticker on the door they do not learn how to use the wallet!
DASH is growing so fast in Colombia now, they have a real strategy for several months already... in my opinion the race is lost if nothing changes drastically... DASH strategy is much more focused on real world adoption.
A real adoption strategy based on using ANYPAY with 10% CASHBACK is the only thing that I can imagine that could possibly keep up with the pace DASH is growing!!!
DASH adoption is so huge here in South America already (2000+ merchants), a single-coin strategy makes no sense to the merchant, but if we offer to the DASH merchants to install ANYPAY to integrate BCH with 10% CASHBACK to attract more customers... that would be a game changer... CASHBACK is such a huge incentive to use it!
The future is multi-coin and the sooner we accept that the sooner we will be on the right path to full adoption and then the consumers can choose which coin they like most, it will be that way and all the resistance trying to push a single coin strategy is inefficiently invested energy. A multi-coin environment is beneficial to make sure that at least one of the free coins makes the race against the threat that the market will be controlled by some Ripple or Stablecoin scam in the future!!!
I actually on-boarded 2 of these merchants which were left with questions and I answered them all their questions (which is so important), we installed the Coinomi Wallet, we practiced sending and receiving both BCH and DASH, then we installed them our *new* Coinector
Android App which offers an easy on-boarding process in 7 languages: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cash.bitcoinmap.coinector
then we installed them the ANYPAY POS so that all the future Satoshis will get 10% Cashback for BCH and DASH payments! If you do not know about that program check: http://charts.anypay.global They do need BCH donations urgently, so that people are incentivized to use BCH over DASH!!!
They have returned 57.63 DASH (5000-10000 USD) as Cashback so far!!
And they have returned only: 0.38 BCH!!!
Because most of the people in the real world on the street are using DASH!!! BCH can keep up with DASH if BCH adopts a similar cashback strategy or if the BCH community (bitcoin.com) starts funding the ANYPAY cashback pot to make it simple!!
ANYPAY has been funded by the DASH treasury before and is receiving constant donations from the DASH community.
They have 200+ merchants worldwide, that is quite some amount if you realize that the whole adoption of BCH is at around 500-1000 total.

I'm giving away THREE free CS:GO keys to trade or open cases, as you see fit. This is to celebrate snagging a Huntsman | Case Hardened MW "Dick Knife" and the fact that a generous member of our community gave me 3 keys a little while ago when I didn't have any Bitcoin in my wallet to buy keys and it would be too much trouble for $7.
This generous individual will remain anonymous, but he knows who he is! <3
Here are the rules:
Each person may post the SPOT PRICE (BID) in U.S. dollars each for silver, gold, and platinum. You must post an exact price, and you cannot pick the same answer as anyone else, or ONLY the first to pick that answer will count. Your other answers that are not duplicates are still valid, or you can delete your comment entirely and pick new entries up until the contest closes. You are NOT allowed to edit or post twice (unless you deleted the original comment) as a top-level comment, or you will be disqualified
This will be the site used to determine the price of each metal:
Whoever is CLOSEST on the price of one of the metals will win a key. If it is a tie, whoever picked the LOWER number will win the key for that metal. You CAN win on multiple metals!
If anyone manages to exactly guess two of the three metals' values, I'll toss in THIS beauty to that winner, in addition to the 2 (or possibly 3) keys they will win: https://s.metjm.net/9nNzq77.jpg
. It's a StatTrak AK-47 | Redline (Field-Tested) with 4 Crown stickers! Yeah, it's a long shot, but it's certainly possible.
The price will be based on the CLOSING PRICE Sunday, June 18 at noon, Central US time. This contest will CLOSE to new entries at 11:59pm, Central US time, on Monday, June 12. NO new entries will be accepted after that time, and any edits or new comments will be automatically disqualified! Example entry:
Silver - $17.43
Gold - $1249.41
Platinum - $1015.03
Current prices as of this typing:
Silver - $17.16
Gold - $1266.40
Platinum - $936.00
Good luck, everyone! Someone just might also get a ST FT AK-47 | Redline with 4 crown stickers!
Entries are CLOSED! Good luck to all the entrants with valid guesses! DO NOT EDIT your guesses or you will be disqualified!
WINNING PRICES (as of 11:30pm Central US time, June 16):
Silver: $16.69 (tumult-pro with a guess of $16.74)
Gold: $1253.40 (froggykrueger with a guess of $1253.37)
Platinum: $929.00 (JihadCS with a guess of $928.00)
Yes, I realize it's not June 18 yet. The market doesn't move after closing on Friday until Monday morning. I only stated noon on Sunday so it would be while the market is closed and there would be no dispute as to the exact price at the time. I am going to go ahead and add people to award them the prizes!
Congratulations to all the lucky winners!

: Several steps towards multipeer downloads
completed: an optimization
to use in-memory block index and a new 1337 chain view
. Maintenance: improved test coverage, upgrading dependency management system and preparing for the upcoming Go 1.11 release. dcrwallet
: A big change
introducing optional privacy-preserving SPV sync mode was merged. In this mode dcrwallet does not download the full blockchain but only gets the "filters", uses them to determine which blocks it needs and fetches them from random nodes on the network. This has on-disk footprint of 300-400 MB and sync time of minutes, compared to ~3.4 GB and sync time of hours for full sync (these are rough estimates).
jy-p: the server side of SPV (in dcrd) was deployed in v1.2.0, the client side of SPV (in dcrwallet) is in our next release, v1.3.0. Still some minor bugs in SPV that are being worked out. There will be an update to add the latest features from BIP 157/158 in the next few months. SPV will be optional in v1.3.0, but it will become the default after we get a proper header commitment for it (#general) Decrediton
: besides regular bugfixes and design improvements, several components are being developed in parallel like SPV mode, Politeia integration and Trezor support. Politeia
started on mainnet
, thanks to everyone who is participating
. A lot of testing, bugfixing and polishing is happening in preparation for full mainnet launch. There are also a few missing features to be added before launch, e.g. capacity to edit a proposal and versioning for that, discussion to remain open once voting starts. Decrediton integration is moving forward
, check out this video
for a demo and this meta issue
for the full checklist.
Trezor: Decrediton integration of initial Trezor support is in progress
and there is a demo
: app design version 2.0 completed
: development of several chart visualizations was completed and is awaiting deployment. Specifically, voting agendas
and historic charts
are merged while ticket pool visualization
is in testing. atomicswap

Dev activity stats for July: 252 active PRs, 220 master commits, 34,754 added and 12,847 deleted lines spread across 6 repositories. Contributions came from 6-10 developers per repository. (chart
Hashrate: the month started at 40.5 and ended at 51.6 PH/s, with a low of 33.3 and a new all time high of 68.4 PH/s. F2Pool is leading with 40-45%, followed by the new BeePool at 15-25% and coinmine.pl at 18-23%.
Staking: 30-day average ticket price is 92.6 DCR (-2.1). The price started the month at 94.6 and quickly retreated to month's low of 85 until 1,860 tickets were bought within a single period (versus target 720). This pushed the pool of tickets to 41,970 (2.5% above target), which in turn caused 10 price increases in a row to the month's high of 100.4. This was the highest ticket price seen on the new ticket price algorithm which has been in effect since Jul 2017. Second half of the month there was unusually low volatility between 92 and 94 DCR per ticket. Locked DCR held between 3.75 and 3.87 million or 46.6-48.0% of supply (+0.1% from previous peak).
Nodes: there are 212 public listening and 216 normal nodes per dcred.eu
. Version distribution: 67% on v1.2.0 (+10%), 24% on v1.1.2 (-1%), 7% on v1.1.0 (-7%). Node count data is not perfect but we can see the steady trend of upgrading to v1.2.0. This version of dcrd is notable for serving compact filters. The increased count of such full nodes allows the developers to test SPV client mode in preparations for the upcoming v1.3.0 release.

An interesting detail about decredbrasil.com
stake pool was posted in chat:
emiliomann: stakebrasil is one of the pools with the lowest number of missed and expired tickets. It was one of the first and has a smaller percentage than the most recent ones who haven’t had the time to do so. (...) The Brazilian pool should be the one with the more servers spread around the world: 6 to decrease the latency. This is to explain to you why the [pool fee] rate of 5% (currently around 0.06 DCR) on the reward is also one of the highest. girino: 8 voting wallets now. I just finished setting up a new one yesterday. All of them in different datacenters, 3 in europe, 3 in north america, 1 in brazil and one in asia. We continue to see institutional interest in DCR. Large block buyers love the concept of staking as a way to earn additional income and appreciate the stakeholder rights it affords them. Likening a DCR investment to an activist shareholdebondholder gives these institutions some comfort while dipping their toes into a burgeoning new asset class.

. As usual, reach @timhebel for full versions.
Big news in June: Facebook reversed their policy on banning crypto ads. ICO ads are still banned, but we should be OK. My team filled out the appeal today, so we should hopefully hear something within a few days. (u/timhebel on reddit)
After couple weeks Facebook finally responded to the appeal and the next step is to verify the domain name via DNS.
